In 1950, our grandfather, JUAN BERNAL VARGAS, came up with the idea of gathering up the straw from the countryside and distributing it among the boroughs in order to use it as food for livestock.
During the 60s, he started packing and commercializing straw among the villages and meadows of Sierra Morena as food for cattle and sheep.
Later, during the decade of the 70s, our father, JOSÉ BERNAL DÍAZ, started a partnership with our grandfather and together they created a company with a bigger scope, making a hydraulic press capable of reducing the size of packs in order to facilitate commercialisation and export.
In 1975, they started exporting straw to the whole peninsula and Canary Islands.
After JUAN BERNAL VARGAS passed away, our father followed his own path and started a new company himself: JOSÉ BERNAL DÍAZ, PRENSADO DE PAJA Y FORRAJES, S.A.
One decade later, in collaboration with his son, JUAN CARLOS BERNAL ROMERO, the company embarked upon new projects and up until today it has been exporting STRAW, ALFALFA, HAY and all kinds of forage to the whole world.
Nowadays, it is his sons, JUAN CARLOS BERNAL ROMERO and ISABEL Mª BERNAL ROMERO, who, with the help of our father, run the company PRENSADO DE PAJA Y FORRAJES HNOS. BERNAL .
We now have automatic high pressure presses and provide wholesale export services.
